张钊维出生于台湾台南市，身兼评论作家与纪录片工作者二职，现担任CNEX基金会制作总监，长驻北京。

他出版过两本专书，「谁在那边唱自己的歌」以及「穿梭米兰昆」，探讨台湾以及中国的通俗音乐与社会文化现象。译作有「庞克的哲学」。

2007年他参与创办CNEX基金会，致力于推动华人纪录片的创作与交流。所参与监制的纪录像片多部入围包括威尼斯影展、法国真实影展、法国FIPA电视节、香港国际电影节、韩国全州影展、中国南京独立影像展等等在内的多个国际影展。

他拥有台湾的历史硕士，以及英国的纪录片硕士学位，同时也拥有电机学士学位。

Born in Taiwan, Chang Chao-wei both writes and produces for television, print and web in Taiwan and China. He is now the Chief Producer of CNEX project, based in Beijing. CNEX is a non-profit organization dedicated to support and promote the creative documentary of Chinese directors.

An accomplished author, he has published two books to date, focusing on music affair and cultural phenomenon.　He has also written widely on international and local current affairs and culture for various magazines and news column in Taiwan as well as in China.

Chao-wei holds two Master Degrees in History and Filmmaking as well as a BA in Engineering from the UK and Taiwan.
