Matthew O'Neill

Matthew O’Neill is a video journalist who has spent his career filming and producing documentaries for PBS, the Discovery Channel and HBO. His work has won one Christopher Award, three Primetime Emmy Awards and five New York Emmy Awards as well as a Sigma Delta Chi Award for Public Service Television Journalism. His filming overseas has taken him from riots in Caracas, Venezuela to the bottom of scrap mines in Potosi, Bolivia and on to Turkey, China and Iraq. In the Spring of 2004, he was awarded the Pew Fellowship for International Journalism.  The documentary he began as a Pew Fellow, "Venezuela: Revolution in Progress," aired on the Discovery Times Channel in April 2005. Matthew grew up on Long Island in New York and graduated from Yale University.
