郭恒奇，1979年出生于中国山西。2006年到北京电影学院学习后期制作。2007年参加艾未未的纪录片《童话》的后期制作，作剪辑助理。同年12月，任王兵的纪录片《原油》剪辑；2008年1月剪辑张弛的故事片《盒饭》。2008年2月至2009年4月拍摄纪录片《新堡》。这是他执导的第一部作品。

GUO Hengqi was born in 1980 and in Shanxi Province, China. He studied Post Production in Beijing Film Academy in 2006. He used to work as Editor Assistant in Ai Weiwei’s documentary [Fair Tale](2007), as the Editor of Bing Wong’s documentary [Crude Oil] (2007), and in January 2008, as the Editor of Chi Zhang’s drama film of [UBU ROI] (2008). As director, he shot his first film [New Castle] (2009) during February 2008 and April 2009.
