1945年8月中国山西，日本投降前几日，三个村里的孩子在后山发现一个因与部队走散而躲在山洞里的日本鬼子。三个孩子与鬼子斗智斗勇，想法设法要抓住鬼子。鬼子抓住了，同时日本天皇宣布投降诏书，战争结束了。孩子们既为战争结束感到高兴，又因失去了玩伴而有些失落。
August, 1945. Shanxi, China.
A few days before the surrender of the Japanese, three kids in the village found a Japanese devil in back mountain. As he got separated from his troop, he hid in the cave. The three kids tried every way they could think of, in a hope to catch the Japanese devil. The Japanese devil was caught, and at the same time, the Japanese emperor declared the rescript of surrender, and the end of war. The kids were so glad that the war was finally over, and also a bit depressed as they no longer had their playmates around.
