这是一部表现现代人不安心理的杰出喜剧片，他的荒谬之处在于“尽管电影中的每个人都知道结婚或许是个坏主意，但是一旦着手准备，就再也停不下来了。由此，人们在日常生活中随波逐流的窘况跃然眼前。影片由导演南茜•沙弗尔和理查德•盖伊共同编剧，用可移动摄像机拍摄，虽然该片是经过精心打造的结果，但是她却给人一种即兴创作的感觉，其轻松自然的风格让人几乎察觉不到摄像机的存在。这可能就是一部影片的最大成功。
