Born 1972 in Kagawa. Graduated from Kansai University in 1995. Moved to Okinawa in summer 2001. Filmography includes: -nik, The Bridge.

A personal memorandum about time and space, with stirring images of ruins and aging.
The father is a welder, a factory worker. The mother is a home keeper, warm but ailing. A sketch of their everyday life at home in their factory’s housing complex. Images of ruins and deserted company apartments reveal Japan’s shift from heavy to light industry. Straight-backed portraits of father and mother. Against blue skies in an open window, the filmmaker and his girlfriend are young and vibrantly alive.

关于时间及空间的个人记录。废墟和老龄化的激动影像。

父亲是焊工，是工场劳动者。母亲是家庭妇女，很热情但虚弱。描述他们在工场单位宿舍的日常生活。废墟和很少人住的单位宿舍的影像暴露出来日本产业从重工业到轻工业的变转。很真诚地描写父母。以被打开的窗户中的蓝天为背景，导演和他女朋友是年轻的，是活跃地活着的。

Ono Satoshi

Born in Yokohama in 1977. After graduating from Rissho University, where he studied psychology, studied filmmaking at the Image Forum Institute of the Moving Image. Danchizake (Homemade Sake) is his graduation piece, and received an award at the screening of the 2001 graduation works. Currently still a student in the Higher Study Course at Image Forum.

大野聪司

1977年生于横滨。立正大学毕业之后（学心理学），在Image Forum研究所学电影创作。《团地酒》(Homemade Sake)是他的毕业作品。在2001年毕业作品展入选。他现在还在Image Forum研究所当专科的学生。

 

Subdued portrait of a fragmented family by a young first-time filmmaker.
The director lives with his father in a public housing complex. The director’s father, a painter, brews sake in plastic bottles. The camera follows each step in the monotonous process, from measuring, washing and cooking the rice, to adding malt and sake lees before leaving the mixture to ferment. The director then interviews his mother, who has left the family to live by herself. She speaks candidly about her romance with her husband and also the family finances. We see the invisible ties within this fragmented family, interspliced with glimpses of a taciturn father who paints alone in his room. This is 24-year-old Ono’s graduation piece for the Image Forum Institute of the Moving Image.

年轻的导演在他第一部电影，抑制感情地描述被分裂的家庭。

Shimizu Hiroyuki

Born in 1967 in Tokyo. After graduating from Keio University in 1990, began working for a TV ad production company. Joined the Film School of Tokyo documentary workshop in 1999. Has produced trailers for films including The New God and A2.

清水浩之

1967年生于在东京。1990年庆应大学毕业以后，在电视广告制作公司工作。1999年参加东京电影学校记录片制作班。制作的电影预告包括∶《新神》和《A2》。

 

Mahjong, tennis, American movies, mystery novels, video games . . . That’s how dad seemed to spend his days. So it was quite a surprise when he joined the controversial Society for Making New History Textbooks. This work observes daily life with a camera, reconstructed through the son’s “subjectivity.”

麻将、网球、美国电影、悬念小说、电子游戏．．．这种活动好像是父亲日常过日子的方式。所以，他加入议论百出的”作新历史课本之会”是一个令人吃惊的事情。这部作品经过摄影机观察日常的生活。影像是由他儿子的”主体”被再编成的。

Kanai Katsu

1936年生于神奈川的一个农民家庭。跟随大映东京摄影所的高桥通夫等工作后，成为自由电影导演，并于1968年成立Kanai制片机构。1969年导演处女作《无人列岛》，获尼翁国际电影节大奖。独立制作拍摄了《微笑银河路三部曲》，之后导演了多部电视纪录片和4部电影，包括《梦游》和《时如风逝》。

Kanai Katsu

Born in Kanagawa Prefecture to a farming family in 1936. After working under Takahashi Michio and others at the Daiei Tokyo film studio, became a freelance film director and established Kanai Productions in 1968. In 1969 premiered his directorial debut, Deserted Island, which was awarded the grand prize at the Nyon International Film Festival. Independently produced and screened Smiling Milky Way Trilogy. Since then, has directed television documentary programs and made four films, including Dream Runs and Time Blows Like the Wind.

Super Documentary Avant-Garde Magic

Visual artist Kanai Katsu documents the everyday life of his alter ego, Kanai Katsumaru. Depressed by his loss of vitality, the elderly Katsumaru trains himself to conquer youth and performs various miracles using homemade "avant-garde magic." These miracles are not just sleight of hand, so be sure to watch closely.

Kato Itaru

1958年生于山形地区Tsuruoka，Tohoku艺术与设计大学任副教授。1977年进入Wako大学人文学科动画图形学院学习视觉艺术。电影和录像作品包括《Fade Out》，《Go-round》，《Zero-TV》和《Sparkling》 (在匈牙利Retina '91 获奖). 已经完成大量创造性的项目，包括独立的FM站和装置。

Kato Itaru

Born in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture in 1958. Associate professor at Tohoku University of Art & Design. In 1977, entered the Department of Humanities, Wako University and studied visual art at the Image Forum Institute of the Moving Image. Film and video productions include Fade Out, Go-round, Zero-TV, and Sparkling (prize winner at Retina '91 in Hungary). Has been involved with numerous creative projects, including independent FM stations and installations.

This collaboration with Kyoto-based visual artist Sakurai Atsushi focuses on "food." Sakurai obsessively examines the vast quantity of food additives that pass through our bodies everyday, and Kato dissects the richness and poverty of the bento box lunches sold at convenience stores.

Tsuchiya Yutaka

生于1966年，1990年开始做自由职业。1994年开始独立发表不署版权的非电视录像作品。1998年开始录像行动，这是一个推动独立录像作品、着重于扩大媒体艺术家网络的项目。主要作品有《你对Hirohito天皇发动的战争怎么看？》（Yasukuni部分，1996年8月15日），《Ryoko21岁》和《新神》。

Tsuchiya Yutaka

Born in 1966. Began professional work in 1990. Has independently distributed the uncopyrighted video Without Television since 1994. In 1998 began Video Act!, a project distributing independent activist video works, and focuses on expanding a network of media activists. Main works include What Do You Think about the War Responsibility of Emperor Hirohito? <Part Yasukuni, Aug. 15, 1996>, Ryoko 21 Years Old, and The New God.

The New God

A real-life collaboration between a nationalist punk band and a leftwing activist. As a teenager, Karin had problems finding a meaning to her existence in society and repeatedly attempted suicide. It was the philosophy of the ultra right-wing nationalists that saved her. She and her ÒcomradeÓ Ito put together a band and started playing nationalist punk music. Left-wing filmmaker Tsuchiya, an unbending anti-imperialist, decides to give Karin a video camera to shoot herself and her daily life, and starts up a peculiar three-way relationship with the couple. Camera on board, Karin travels to North Korea and meets former Red Army terrorists who fled from Japan aboard a hijacked plane thirty years ago.
