with a special mention for its originality.
NETPAC JURY
The jury decided to award first prize, ex aequo, to the films
Tokyo Sonata (Kiyoshi Kurosawa) for the humoristic yet sober description of a family in a society where saving face is crucial.
Song from Southern Seas (Marat Sarulu) for the lightness with which it portrays a multi-ethnic reality distorted by history.
