In its 6th year, PPP once again selected projects from talented directors from Asia-wide.
PPP provides opportunities for these talented directors and producers of select projects to meet and receive supports from producers, distributors and investors worldwide who come to PPP for that exact reason.
During this PPP event, likes of Kurosawa Kiyoshi, a respected Japanese director, with his latest project "Loft", and Stanley Kwan, four time winner of Golden Bear from Berlin Film Festival, with a new project "the Letter from an Unknown Woman", will present and hold meetings for joint project and investment opportunities.
Also projects by directors with solid reputation and track records such as "Virgin Cow" by Murali Nair, receiver of Camera D’or, Cannes Film Festival, and "unforgettable" by Wong Kar Wei, who has been resting since recent “2046”, are among PPP selections to receive attentions from distributors, producers and investors. One of highlights of this year’s PPP is that Joan Chen, the heroin of "Last Emperor" and director of "Autumn in New York" will be participating also with her latest project "Concubine" for PPP. Projects from attention-getting Korean directors such as Myung-se Lee, with his first US-based project “Crossing”, Jin-ho Hur’s "Happiness Is", Jae-Eun Jeong with "Taepung Taeyang", Soo-Il Jeon`s "A Story of Korean Priest", and In-sik Kim with "Love Virus" are expected to receive good reception during PPP.

这位三十二岁的中国导演曾是上海中医学院印刷厂的一名工人,他的工作是搬运成型的字模. 同年,他考入复旦大学主修新闻,毕业后在上海劳动保护报工作,负责交通和运输方面的新闻报道.之后,在香港改革杂志社工作期间,对文化活动表现出极大的兴趣,组建了一个戏剧社,自写剧本并在戏剧和电视中做配角.
1995年,他筹集资金拍摄了"贵妃醉酒".1996年在北京电影学院学习编导.他的第
一部作品"陈默与美婷"在2002年的柏林电影节青年论坛上被评为最佳亚洲电影及
最佳处女作特别鼓励奖.
影片故事大纲
这是一部以北京这个具有悠久的历史和浓厚的神秘色彩的城市为背景,两条情节线索并行发展的喜剧影片.片中有三个主要人物,Monica,一个神秘的女人,John,一个青年男子,和Jane,一名护士.在"紫禁城的游戏"这部片子里有两个游戏.Monica,第一个游戏的操纵者,使在枯燥和孤寂中生活的John和Jane体会到勇气,信心和勇敢的力量和美丽之后相爱了.John和Jane也和Monica做了一个游戏,融化了她心中的冰棱,帮助她与同样在失去爱人的痛苦中折磨的Mike 开始了新的感情生活.

This 32 year old Chinese director became a laborer in printery of Shanghai College of Chinese Medicine and his main task was to deliver the molding board of Chinese characters back and forth. In the same year, he enrolled to Fudan University majoring in Journalism, and worked in Shanghai Labor-Safeguard Newspaper after graduation, covering and reporting the traffic & transportation sector. Later, he worked for the magazine Reform, Hong Kong, during which he expressed great interests in culture activities, setting up a drama club, writing scenarios and doing minor roles in dramas and TVs. In 1995, he raised fund to shoot “Drunk Concubine”. In 1996, He studied writing and directing in Beijing Film Academy. His first feature, “Chen Mo & Mei Ting” received the Best Asia Movie in the Youth Forum, and Special Encouragement among the Best Maiden Works, Berlin International Film Festival, 2002.
SYNOPSIS
This comedy film is in the form of a movie within a movie with two stories set in Beijing, the giant modern city with long history and thick mystery. There are three key characters, Monica, a mysterious woman, John, a young man who comes to Beijing in hopes of finding future, and Jane, a nurse. There are two games in the movie, “Game and the City”. Monica, the maker of the first game helped John and Jane, who lived in a boring and lonely life, understand the important things of life such as courage, confidence, bravery, and in the end, they fall in love. John and Jane also made a game for Monica, breaking the ice in her heart, helping her begin new love life with Mike who also was tortured by the pain of losing spouse.
