2，又称异托邦，(Heterotopias)，来自米歇尔·福柯，原为医学用语，指内脏等的异位，组织的异位移植。取其原意，谓水陆观音移动移植。它的含义是“类似于反场所的某种东西，一种有效地实现了乌托邦，在这里……文化中所能找到的所有其他真实的场所，都同时表现着、竞争着、转化着”；“异托邦”是一个既反映社会、又对抗社会的真实空间(而乌托邦则是虚构的、非真实的)，它既偏离正常场所，同时又可以穿行于其中；它既向四方渗透，又使自己保持孤立。福柯认为，在我们的现代文化中，“异托邦”既有幻想性，也有补偿性。可以说，中国当代艺术家群落也具有某种“异托邦”的性质。它既有反体制的冲动与相应的价值关怀，同时也怀有对体制下社会现实的认同；它既纵情于个体幻想，也不缺乏对现实补偿的渴望；在自由与秩序、漂泊与安居、国际与乡土、都市与农村、艺术与商业等价值维度之间，它一直在蜿蜒而行。
