The plan to establish an international student short film festival (ISSFF-Pk) is connected to our work at the Li Xianting Film School. The significance of our school lies in its expectation and cultivation of new filmmakers. We are holding this student festival, then, in hopes of being able to introduce new films and new filmmakers to the public. Another part of the festival, of course, is for students to communicate with and inspire one another. Our school motto is " Spirit of Freedom,Thinking Independently ,Ability of Realization." and this is basically what we expect from the work of our students. But the beginning of anything is always very difficult. For the first edition of a student film exhibition this year, we decided to combine it with the Beijing Independent Film Festival in order to avoid difficulties. This decision has also been made in hopes of more diverse works and audience members. In terms of the selection of works, this year's number of films is a bit smaller. This is due not only to problems we encountered in preparing for the festival, but also to the fact that this is our first time holding this kind of exhibition. With this beginning, we are ready to continue into the future, even if difficulties and challenges still persist. We hope that this exhibition, our school, and excellent films from both China and around the world can grow together.
建立國際學生短片節-北京(ISSFF-Pek)的這個計劃，是跟我們進行栗憲庭電影學校的工作結合在一起的。舉辦學校含有期待和培養新電影人的意思；而舉辦學生影展，則是希望能將新鮮的作品和新鮮的人推薦給公眾。當然這其中也是學生們的互相交流和激勵。
我們學校的校訓是“自由之精神，獨立之思考，實踐之能力”，跟大概也是我們對學生作品的要求。不過，起頭的事情總是很難。今年這第一屆的學生影展，爲了避免更大的難處，我們還是放在跟北京獨立電影展一起來舉行了。這也是希望作品和觀眾都多元化一些。在作品選擇上，今年的餘地小了點。一方面是準備的問題，另外當然也跟我們初次舉行這樣的影展有關。
開了個頭，我們就做好了準備繼續下去，即使困難和挑戰依然存在。希望影展和我們的學校，以及中國和世界各地的優秀作品能共同成長。
