This is the first time that BIFF embodies an animation unit. Therefore, we are still on the road of exploration. From quantity to quality, I have been attempting to search for reasonable standards of the selection. Animation in this era has already been impossible to be simply divided into “artistic” and “commercial”. The multiple producing forms and communication platforms have created a brand new environment for animation, an environment which accommodates commerce, entertainment, modern art, fashion, personal interests, and cultural strategies. After all, animation brings us irreplaceable surprises, which overstep all the redundant standards. The surprises conclude abundant creativity and imagination, clear-cut individual characteristics, and the real enjoyment which appears to belong to us but actually stays far, far away. This is my starting point, from where I would like to go further.
無論是作品的數量還是形態上，我都在現有的範圍內，希望盡可能找到合理的支點，進行選擇。
動畫，在這個時代，因其形式和傳播的多樣化，已經營造出一個匯集商業娛樂、現代藝術、流行概念、個人趣味、文化戰略等等多樣性聚合的生態環境，我想已經不能簡單地用“藝術”或“商業”的概念劃分。
但是動畫仍帶給我們一種無法替代的獨特的驚喜，它超越所有無聊的標準。
那就是直接而豐富的創造力和想象力，明晰的個人化特徵，以及貌似被我們大量消費，卻早已遠離內心的真正趣味性。
這就是我選擇的起點，希望未來走得更遠。
