  FILM: This documentary, sponsored by Korean Film Commission in 2001, carries deliberate interviews and detailed researches about Mu, the traditional Korean shamanism or folk custom. Giving basic information on Mu by subtitles without voice of narrator, this video work focuses what the camera captures.
  In this documentary, two different Mudangs(shaman) - Se-Seup-Mu(hereditary shaman) and fortune-teller - are explained and their lives are observed. This ethnographic work with a bunch of data and things to see leads us to the right way of understanding Korean shamanism: Korean version of 'National Gepgraphic'?
  This work is made in traditional way of making documentary: focusing on giving information and pedagogic effects. Director's humanitarian view on lives of shaman appeals to the audiences.
  In part of showing Poong-O Je, a folk festival which is held once in 5 years in Pohang, introduces various Gut(shaman's exorcist rite) such as No-rum Gut, Son-nim Gut, Yong-Wang Gut, Baet-no-rae Gut and also Dang-gol-le, a special retual called Dang-gol-le. While introducing Jindo Sang-yo Je and Ssit-kim Gut, this documentary explains difference between Dang-gol and fortune-teller. After wrapping up the stories about Korean shamanism in southern Korea, director returns to middle part of Korea including Seoul, contrasting shamanisms of these two areas.
